Junior ROTC is organized by the US Ministry of National Defense. Students from 14 to 17 years old learn allegiance to the nation, how to handle guns, and service spirit as a citizen. However, the reason why the US raises these young students as soldiers is hidden. Poor, immigrant, and racial minority students enlist to escape from poverty and be acknowledged as patriots; to become a ‘true American’.
