오월상생은 80년대 민중가요 다섯 곡과 함께 만남과 죽음의 이미지로 5·18의 기억과 상처를 성찰하고 복원한다. 그리고 우리들 가슴 속에 새겨야 할 한 송이 꽃과 총이 무엇인지를 되묻는다.  In May, 1980. Military officials expanded the martial law to the entire nation though people's demand to abolish it. The military authorities put down popular Gwangju using batons and bayonets. The violent state repression did not stop people from struggling. The uprising signaled the birth of "civic mind."
