기근으로 가난하게 살아가는 방글라데시 남부의 농부들은 매년 집을 떠나 맨손으로 낡은 배를 고철 덩어리로 분해하는 위험천만한 일을 하고 있다. 영화는 돈도 제대로 못 받지만 또 다시 이곳을 찾아야만 하는 악순환을 세계화와 연관 지어 보여 준다. The annual famine in Bangladesh forces Farmers to leave their homeland and hire themselves out as seasonal labourers at the shipbreaking yards. Director is witness to a systematic exploitation, which only very few of the workers can escape. These seasonal workers do the most dangerous work in the yard, but they are also trapped into inescapable debt.
