남미 민중영화를 이끌었던 우카마우 집단과 보르헤 산히네스 감독이 만든 극영화. 영화는 남미 민중의 삶을 두 가지로 대비해 보여준다. 권력자에게 저항하는 농민과 노동자의 삶과 그 반대의 삶을 통해 제3세계 민중의 역사를 만나게 된다.In this Bolivian story, a man remembers his life while on a journey which will help him expiate his sins and which will result in his death. The focus on the story is on a man who has betrayed everyone he knows. He is planning to perform an ancient ritual dance which will end with his life being taken. He journeys from where he was living back to the village where most of the people he wronged still live. As he journeys, carrying his distinctive dance costume, his story is told in flashbacks. Once he gets there, he gets involved in the affairs of the villagers once more.
